Frequently asked questions about the CDFSN
Here you will find the answers to questions that are frequently asked about CDFSN.
- Who may apply for funding from CDFSN?
Funds shall essentially be used in the county of Vest-Agder. Companies, private and public institutions, foundations etc. are eligible to apply. Funding is not granted to individuals. See also more detailed information in the article concerning application criteria.
- How much funding may one apply for?
There is no specific limit, but the amount must of course be within the limits of funds that CDFSN has available for distribution each year.
- Is it possible to apply for an annual grant?
It is possible for CDFSN to grant support for projects or initiatives that span several years. However, CDFSN must make the proviso that the annual yield on invested funds is sufficiently large to allow payments to be made.
- How much money does CDFSN have available each year?
In 2003, CDFSN has approx. NOK 650 million in distributable capital. The annual yield will vary from year to year depending on interest rates, developments in the securities market and other financial variables. The board aims to be able to distribute NOK 30 million each year. In order to realise such a funding policy, it is necessary to build up a buffer capital which may be used in years where the yield is poor. Before such buffer capital has been built up, the annual amount available for distribution may be considerably lower than NOK 30 million.
- Is it possible to apply for funding outside the annual application time limit?
All applications should be processed at one time each year in order to secure consistent and fair funding practice. In very special cases, funding may be granted outside the application deadline when the project clearly falls within central allocation criteria, and when the amount applied for lies within specific authorised limits.
